Space frames are 3d trusses constructed by interlocking structs arranged in such way that it can bear long span. Suitable for large span convention centres and ware house where intermediate columns are not desirable. Space frames are strong because of the inherent rigidity of the triangle as loads are transmitted along the length of each strut. Space frame connections can be welded, bolted, riveted or ball type. Space frames may be single layered, double layered or triple layered.

Space frames are normally used for auditoriums, stadiums, canopies airport and railway hangers.
